Wadi Bani Kharus, Oman, Arabian Peninsula, Middle East - One of the many dry water courses leading into the mountains of interior Oman. Leading down the middle of the dry stream bed are surface openings of the underground water channels, called aflaj (singular: falaj), a system dating back centuries, traceable to Iranian origins.
