Mbweni, Zanzibar, Tanzania. St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, established 1882, consecrated 1904. In the top of the carved door frame is an example of Swahili written in Arabic script. Right-side panel: "Ingieni mlangoni kwake kwa kushukuru." ("Enter the house of God and give thanks.") Left-side panel: "Libarikini jina lake" ("and praise his name").
