Mudayrib, Oman, Arabian Peninsula, Middle East - Sacrificing a goat for Eid al-Adha. Like all Muslims who can afford to do so, Omanis sacrifice a goat to celebrate the Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice), the annual feast through which Muslims commemorate God's mercy in allowing Abraham to sacrifice a ram instead of his son, to prove his faith. Many families bring their animals to the village abatoir, where a butcher performs the sacrifice.
