British Lion at Base of Statue of Lord Plunket, 1906 Governor of New Zealand, Napier, north island, New Zealand. The monument is in memory of New Zealanders from Hawke's Bay who fought in the Boer War in South Africa, 1899-1902, "serving the empire's cause." Some say the lion looks constipated.
