Sanao, Oman, Arabian Peninsula, Middle East - Buying a goat for Eid al-Adha. Like all Muslims who can afford to do so, this Omani will sacrifice a goat to celebrate the Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice), the annual feast through which Muslims commemorate God's mercy in allowing Abraham to sacrifice a ram instead of his son, to prove his faith. Women are often responsible for raising the livestock, and receive the proceeds from their sale.
