After attaining the rank of Ambassador in 1996, Chuck left the Foreign Service in 2001 to devote himself full-time to photography and writing.  Chuck often travels on self-generated, stock-oriented trips.  A member of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), he will consider proposals combining text/photo assignments.  A list of his many article-length publications is available on request.

His objective now is to produce photographs and educational articles to help others understand the challenges we face in attempting to protect fragile ecosystems while finding ways to improve the economic well-being and better health of all citizens of the world.  He also seeks to promote cross-cultural understanding and tolerance by promoting better understanding of Islamic culture in the non-Muslim world.
